The Miracle Exercise

Imagine you have gone home to sleep and you wake up the next morning and you realise that a miracle has happened and you are now doing your perfect job.  You suddenly feel a huge sense of satisfaction…

  • How will you know that the miracle has happened? What first steps will tell you?
  • What will you be doing differently?…and what else?
  • How will you be feeling? What will you be doing differently to show others you are feeling this?
  • What will people close to you notice?
  • What’s the most significant thing that you are doing differently to indicate to you and to others that the miracle has occurred?
  • What do you actually do all day?
  • What are you looking forward to?

Now consider the following:

  • Where are you now in terms of the ‘perfect day’ scenario? 10 being the miracle scenario and 0 being the worst case.
  • Why is the score not 0?
  • What score would you settle for?
  • What do you need to do to get that score?
  • How will you know you’re there?
